New Alberta Food System Policy Database

The Institute for Sustainable Food Systems and the University of Alberta Faculty of Extension is launching the Alberta Food System Policy Database: a searchable, online database of local government food system policy in Alberta. The resource includes 200+ policy references (compiled from Municipal Development Plans, Bylaws, Food Strategies etc.) from over 25 local governments, and serves as a centralized resource for planners, policy makers and community advocates to research precedents and advance food system planning in their regions.

Submit to Upcoming Place-Based Food Systems Conference

"This conference will bring together academic and community-based leaders and change-makers who are working to understand and advance place-based food systems as a foundational element of sustainable society. Participants will share and learn about the latest research and on-the-ground experiences and identify directions for strategic, synergistic, and concerted future study and action."

Submission deadline: March 31st, 2018. Applications will be reviewed as they are received.

University of Alberta researcher takes leadership role in strengthening local food systems
